Two specialized tracks:

Applied Economics & Data Analysis: at the core of this specialized track lies the role of the economist as an analyst, capable of mobilizing both economic theory and rigorous statistical data analysis.

Through strong scientific training in data analysis, economic modeling, and the evaluation of economic decisions—whether related to public policies or firms’ strategic choices—students learn to transform economic information into structured analyses, to identify the underlying mechanisms, and to assess their concrete implications.

This approach emphasizes the applied dimension of economics: understanding phenomena, quantifying their effects, and providing decision-support tools for economic stakeholders.

This track therefore prepares students for high-impact careers in the public, private, or non-profit sectors, where economists act as economic data analysts and provide diagnostics that inform action.

Money, Macro, Finances: this specialized track trains economists capable of addressing the major monetary and macroeconomic challenges that shape our societies. With a strong focus on issues related to monetary policy, financial stability, and short- and long-term macroeconomic dynamics, it provides a solid foundation in monetary economics, macro-finance, and financial institutions.

Thanks to close ties with the National Bank of Belgium, where many HEC Liège students regularly complete internships, this track combines academic rigor with immersion in real-world professional environments.

It prepares graduates for careers in central banks, supervisory authorities, financial institutions, and macroeconomic analysis units in both the public and private sectors.

An advanced track, preparing students for scientific research, is also offered within the Master in Economics.
