Objectives

Are you interested in logistics? Are you attracted by the cutting-edge jobs in this field (e-commerce, urban logistics, etc.) and do you want to understand the management processes involved in the production and distribution of goods and services? Does the optimization of operational efficiency (infrastructure, energy, environmental impact) attract you? This specialization will enable you to develop skills specific to supply chain management: understanding the issues at stake, establishing a strategy to optimize the value chain of a company or organization. It will enable you to take up challenges such as the development of IT automation and decision support tools (information collection and management, inventory management, planning, cost optimization, etc.) and digitalization in general (geolocation, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, etc.).

The courses in logistics at HEC Liège have a triple objective:

  • First of all, these trainings allow for a global management of the product life cycle by privileging the circular economy to optimize company profits while minimizing the environmental impact;
  • Secondly, they include new technologies linked to the development of automation, IT tools and digitalization (geolocation, internet of things, artificial intelligence);
  • Finally, they take into account the evolution towards new economic models based on win-win collaborations sharing data or resources.

The + of the specialization

  • The specialization is oriented towards human sciences and marketing
  • 2 double degrees in Germany (Universität Hohenheim) and the Netherlands (Maastricht University)

Skills acquired at the end of the specialization

The skills specific to supply chain management acquired through these courses are highly sought after on the job market within the "Transport & Logistics" sector, and also transversally in many sectors of activity. They allow to establish a strategy to optimize the value chain of a company or an organization and to adapt its managerial practices to the needs of a constantly changing world. They meet the expectations of various professional sectors looking for high-level employees with solid managerial skills ready to take up numerous challenges depending on the sector, the size of the company and its innovation dynamics.

What our Students say about it

 The role of a Supply Chain Manager is crucial in a company. Indeed, a mistake in the supply chain can have huge consequences on production, on transport and ultimately on the customer. Understanding how Amazon packages travel from the other side of the world to your home without getting lost on the way, discovering the tools used to locate them, understanding what happens at customs, ... all these aspects fascinated me! Moreover, in Supply Chain, there are a lot of possibilities of innovations and improvements, either through the implementation of disruptive technologies or the implementation of sustainable solutions. Finally, in terms of employment, there is an infinity of opportunities, especially in the Liège region!
