Master in Global Transition and Sustainability Management
Climate, economic, technological, and societal transitions are profoundly transforming organizations and societies.
The Master in Global Transition and Sustainability Management, fully taught in English, aims to train graduates capable of understanding, analyzing, and leading these transformations in complex and uncertain environments.
This independent, thematic, and interdisciplinary program aligns with the mission of HEC Liège: to develop talents capable of generating strong societal impact and acting at the heart of major transformations.
Objectives
In response to the profound changes affecting organizations and territories, the program develops a dual expertise:
- A scientific and systemic understanding of transition dynamics
- Managerial capabilities to design and implement transformation strategies.
The master’s program is built on an interdisciplinary approach, integrating economics and management, environmental sciences, social sciences, as well as strategic and leadership tools.

Upon completion of the master’s program, graduates will be able to:
- Analyze transitions in their economic, social, environmental, and geopolitical dimensions
- Adopt a systemic approach integrating interactions between climate, energy, economy, and society
- Develop organizational strategies suited to complex environments
- Lead transformation projects and manage change
- Assess the risks and opportunities related to transitions
- Mobilize financial, technological, and sustainability reporting tools
- Demonstrate responsible leadership grounded in scientific rigor and critical thinking.

The program (120 ECTS) is structured around three complementary pillars:
Teaching Approach and Practical Experience
The program combines academic teaching with applied learning activities, with a particular focus on:
- Projects carried out in collaboration with organizations
- Foresight seminars and the management of uncertainty
- Development of interpersonal skills and leadership
- Practical tools for transformation and decision-making.
